This is the only photo I have of myself breastfeeding one of my own babies.

Dairy Free and Peanut Free
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Beat the following together in a large bowl:
3/4 cup almond butter 1/2 cup coconut oil 1 cup ground flax
1/4 cup Brewers yeast 1/3 cup water 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon cinnamon
then add 2 eggs
combine the next three ingredients and then add them to the first bowl
1 1/2 cups flour (whole wheat or white or combo)
1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp salt
next, add 3/4 - 1 cup mini dairy free chocolate chips (www.enjoylifefoods.com)
(adding the chips before the oats makes it easier to combine them)
now add 1 1/2 to 2 cups steel cut oats (or old fashioned oats) and mix by hand. Really, by hand.
(if you have oats in before chips, you will find that many chips stay in bottom of bowl rather than incorporating into the dough)
shape into small balls and flatten. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet or baking stone for 12 - 13 minutes.
Cool completely. Makes approximately 5 dozen depending on size. They freeze well.

Alternative if you do not need dairy free.. use 1/2 cup softened butter in place of coconut oil, use any chocolate chips
if you do not need peanut free.. peanut butter works just as well as almond butter and costs less
1 cup dried cranberries can be used in place of chocolate chips, add zest from one orange and 1 tsp of orange extract
