My name is Gail Dittes.
I'm happily married since 1979 to my wonderfully supportive husband named Terry. We have six children who all make us proud every day.
My daughter Melissa and her husband Nick have two boys: Dominick, pictured above, who is now 7 years old and smart as a whip! Vincent, who is 3, is his sweet little brother. We also have a granddaughter, named Gabrielle, who is 2 now. . Gabrielle became a big sister to Annabelle in August 2016. My daughter Amy and her husband Ryan are the proud parents of these two beauties. . My son and his wife, Lindsay, welcomed their first, Victoria Rose in January of 2017. My sons Kevin and Matthew, and daughter Teresa round out the family. I breastfed all six, most for a year. It wasn't always easy, but it was always worth it. If it stayed difficult, though, no-one would do it 6 times!
I became a registered nurse in 1982. Most of my career was in various areas of a hospital on a "as needed" basis. At some point I was needed in Maternity/Newborn Nursery and I found my passion. I began taking lactation education classes and conferences. I became a CLC (certified lactation counselor) to improve the care I could offer to the maternity moms. Lower Bucks Hospital decided to stop offering Maternity Care late in 2012. I continued my Lactation Specific Education, and took the boards in July of 2013. I have been happily practicing as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant ever since. The "C" after my RN, means that I am currently certified in Maternal/Newborn Nursing.
I attend multiple conferences every year to stay current, and will be taking a TummyTime Method Certification course this fall.
I feel blessed that my "work" is something that truly brings joy to me. I look forward to meeting you!
